Vintage shots from days gone by!

I'll play along a bit. Here's a shot of my grandfather. He drove delivery for the St. Louis Star Times during the War. He was a teamster back when teamsters had "teams".

 

I flew in the Connie from Chicago to San Francisco in 1955 when I was 6. I still have to this day the gold TWA lapel wings the stew gave me to shut me up. I remember running back and forth down the aisle during the trip basically being a pain to other passengers.

 

DEFINITELY Bert Convy. I just Googled him and there are a ton of photos of him....or his twin.

Sadly, the new tire traction compound was a failure.

 

I think it is now the Mast General Store. Haven't been there in a few years but I worked with one of my contractors near Asheville (nearby - Skyland) and would go to that store every time I was in town. They had a lot of stuff in there and still had a lot of that old "dime store" atmosphere.

Saw a few KC97s airborne but missed those great looking B47s

Here's one I was sent today from a friend of mine in New Hampshire . I'm told the car belongs to a relative and it still runs too. it is a 1908 International Harvester automobile and it's on loan to a Vermont musuiem.


The second shot is a cleaned up version of the first .
