so..finally got pics of the qc rear in my "new" mg...after all, it does appear to be of normal V8 size diff...looking to ID mfg on it as there are no names, logos, or numbers on the outside of it...Thanks
It's almost a shame to cover that beautiful differential up with a body! Posted using Full box of Crayons on the Kitchen Walls App!
What MG is it? TC? Those look like underslung rails. What's the history? It looks like an interesting project. Tell us more!
well...its a 1947 MG TC, supposed race history from the west coast in the late 40's and early 50's...story is that it was raced back then with a V8-60, and this QC rear in it...rear is modified/adapted to the TC axle tubes and retains the original TC brakes, hubs and wire wheels...story also goes that it came with a 8 port alloy MG head that folks believe came out of Ken Miles shop...the guy I got the car from bought the car in the late 60's and still has the alloy head....so far, I have not been able to verify anything of the stories, but, I just got the car on monday!!!...V8-60 was long gone, but I think I have located one here locally and Im going to put it back to the V8-60 setup and vintage race it here in the northeast...
Keep digging. I have never seen that QC before. Keep us posted, amd more pictures of this rear end, PLEASE!
