Now here's my complaint. With all of the reposts, how come I haven't seen "The Hippie Chick" for a long time? :)

I have read with interest all of the comments in support, and the ones opposed in regards to some of the photos posted in this thread.

I enjoy this thread for the history displayed in the photos. Regardless of what subject matter that history is.

History is important simply for the reason of reminding us of our past.

Time and time again we have seen that those when fail to learn the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat its failings in the future.

In my view, post what ever you wish and lets hope we learn our lessons.

This thread has turned into a joke.

Go back to the first 5 pages to see what used to be.

Personally, I think that the endless pics of VIP's in Limousines were the last nail in the coffin...

  17. XP-300, I agree completely. You have a more eloquent way of putting it than I do.

    Just did, good stuff.

I like cars and chicks personally but my mouse wheel can cope with just about anything thrown at it.

Here is a request. I would love to see a pic of the very purposeful young lady on the motercycle again. She was just crossing the start finish. The bike is a little sideways on dirt but she has the hammer down. Great pic.

???? XP-300, I don't know you but i'm sure you are a nice guy, but I think you may have gotten the wrong impression of the HAMB. It would appear that you and several others have joined just to post pics on this thread, am I wrong. While there may be nothing wrong will that rules wise, the HAMB is a site dedicated to traditional hotrods & customs, not world history. I have saved many pics from this thread, 90% auto and the other misc, yes I check it out every few days, but i'm here for hotrods & customs.

This thread for lack of a better term is (grandfathered) in I guess, as well as a few other threads that don't directly follow the sites intention. The recent re-focus has stopped alot of the fluff/OT stuff that got by in the HAMBs early years, this I applaud, I know i'm not alone here. Yes I enjoy looking at the thread, I have no opinon on whether it should be closed or left open, that decision is up to the mods.

I spent a little bit of time trying to find out who she was , what was her story
No luck but what a great image.

  23. The Mod's don't seem to find many posts in violation of the HAMB rules, however this thread was started by DOG427435. I think he should way in on what type of vintage shots were intended. Anyone who wants to post different types could start there own thread.

Could it be Dot Robinson? I believe there was a series of photos of her posted a while back?

It's funny how here, just as in life, there are always people waiting in the wings to suck the fun out of something with stuff like "the rules say," "the original intention of this thread was,""this thread has become a joke because...," etc.

If you don't like the current posts, stop following the thread and let the rest of us enjoy it in peace. Is that asking too much?

  27. Now that requests are being taken, I would like to see that one of the two little boys and a wagon (maybe) standing at the curb and the one on the right has a look of joy on his face that is huge.

  28. I do think that it has gotten out of hand at times. A lot of this stuff really doesn't belong on a traditional hot rod forum. I usually just scroll past the trivia but I don't know how much longer it can last the way its going.
