I was asked to post my grill build, so here it is. I was tired of looking at expensive original 39 grills so I decided to build my own from 5/16 round stock and custom fit the perimeter frame to make the hood fit into the fenders and align the hood to the body correctly. 72 hours labor, $62 in materials...

Just found this picture of my Forty in a magazine from 05. It's exactly the same now minus the intake and funky grill topper.

Teaser pics. One of two sedans I'm building right now, this 39 Standard, the other a 40 Deluxe. Just picked it up at the paint shop, preety jazzed, it always seems downhill from here. It will have a bone white interior and steelees with wide whites, I'll post more when I get it a little farther along.

Cool, I'm running the same set up. I had a real tough time getting a flywheel for my 401. Pm me if I can help.

It's a custom mixed bronze my jobber came up with. I wanted somewhere between a gold and a brown and they hit it just right.
They said they started with a Ford color and added some different finer metallic and some gold pearl.

What is done to the grill? Is that a 37-39 radiator in there?

Looks like a hole for a front license plate. And yeah, that radiator is tall! I wonder if the hood will fit.

Both very nice. Were you at the Stray Kat 500 in the MorDor? If that's the one that was there, it sure was sweet!

The only thing that looks better than a '39 Deluxe Ford Sedan is an Australian "sloper" Ford sedan.

The tudor is Roger Ward's latest acquisition. Built by Bruce's Rod Shop for one of their customers, went to the Tulsa area, for a while, and now in KS. Paint on the body is still factory lacquer.
