As far as I know its original, it had 1920 "The Queen" on the sign. According to the local paper; The oldest boat at the show was a 1920 Hutchinson, “The Queen”, at 28-feet long.

Didn't care for the boat, but the tow rig was a great car.

My Dad, Grandpa, and I in my Dad's Jet. That boat was Dick Schuster's 1973 Drag boat. It ran in the Blown Gas Jet class. My Dad pulled that motor and put in a more "Family Friendly" blueprinted and balance solid lifter solid cam 396.

I think so far this 1958 Cadillac speed boat is my favorite. It was on Craigslist near me for a long time, but I see it's now gone. Hopefully it's being restored and not scrapped for the aluminum.

They made some pretty stylish stuff didn't they. Sad those days are mostly gone.

That is a great looking tinny. I really like how they give you the built in 2-tone line like the cars of the era. I agree, hope someone got it that will preserve it. I had a next door neighbor (in WA state - these boats are VERY rare around here) that had a 50's Caddy boat. I loved that thing. He would not sell it to me. Wanted his kids to have it. Well, he died, and his kids got rid of it of course. No idea where it went. So I ended up with my 2 Crestliners of the same era. Very happy with them, but that caddy was slick.

That's a beauty for sure. Wow. On Golden Pond. I believe it's the same model. (U20 or U22?)

Gorgeous. I'm curious, what are the dips in the wood side rails for? Is that for your arm to hang out or something?

I have a Mercury Mark 58A engine 45 hp, I believe its 1959. Its of the dockbuster variety, direct drive, you actually start engine in reverse to back up. I also have a 59 Blue Star Aluminum boat 14'. It still has original Johnson engine, maybe 28 hp. I would love to put the Mark 58 engine on it, but I have no controls, and would like to find some.

    Go here.

If link doesn't work, go to AOMCI and you'll find a link called "Ask a Member". Join that forum, and post your request. Someone will have what you need.

I've often wondered if I could live with one of those or not. Not sure I could handle not being able to warm it up, or even the simple docking program. (hence the name of course).

I bought this wooden sailboat at an auction in december. The sails were stored inside the house and look like new. Its a really cool boat. I don't sail so i guess its time to try to sell it. Any ideas on value of this thing?

It would be cool to have a vintage boat get together. Austin, Tx would be perfect since I live here.

It's not too old but it is a rare combination. 1978 CHRYSLER Courier 154 boat with a 70 hp CHRYSLER Skier outboard. They have matching orange stripes and orange upholstery. This was as sold new. Boat is in real good shape. The engine is very strong. Wouldn't it be an attention getter at a car show behind some orange CHRYSLER product!!?? No power tilt and the engine gets heavier every time I have to lift it. Scares me to put it down....I'm gonna go over the back one of these days. I need to stick with my pontoon. Anybody???

Let me guess....you live on Torch Lake. In the 1950's there used to be boat races through the attached lakes. My cousin Chester, from Bellaire, raced at least once with the boat he built and my dad's 16 horse Merc. The boat's name was Torchy. I will post some pics when I get back to Mich from Florida next month.

My dad raced them in the from the 50's until the 80's. As kids we traveled all over and my mom and dad had about 18 Governors cups. They are cool boats. You might find a sailor looking for one to restore. The sail should have the emblem on it. Good luck

If the sails are good, then unroll the main sail. It should have an emblem on it and will be easier to identify.
