Hey guys just wondering if it can be done without any crazy business? I have seen just about every other swap but no hemi swaps that I can think of.
about the same, but very slightly bigger and tighter fit, a 392 in a '51 coupe it is a very drivable car; but not great gas mileage. It was undrivable until I went to a MII style front suspension and power steering. The hemi was just too heavy and hard to steer. That suspension change was about 15 years ago. Biggest clearance problem for maintenance is rt. fender well to valve cover. Best to modify fender well during install.
When I got the car in the late '90s it had a hemi, T400, original steering and suspension, and dropped spindles. Because it was so heavy in steering, I went with the MustangII style suspension (Chubby Chassis) and a power rack and pinion steering fairly shortly after I got it.
