I can't believe the amount of the LIFE photos that are reversed....
Love that adapter plate setup!

 

Initially, I was perplexed that the car was right hand drive. It took several seconds................

 

Yeah I've noticed too, that LIFE reversed quite a few negatives prior to printing some of their pics.

 

An early Jeep - is it a Ford or Willys? I don't think it's a Bantam

I flipped some that I posted a year or so ago but didn't do this set. Obviously whoever digitized them for LIFE wasn't into quality control, eh?

Well I own a '35 Plymouth and have two hoods with the trim on the side, and that doesn't look the same. It looks like a '36 to me.

 

Here's a couple of random "Vintage Shots". I don't remember them being on this thread before, sorry if they have. The first one made me very sad.

 

Is that a license plate on the rear bumper?

 

A few things I noticed about the shot, which you would not see today, 1) some of the pit crew wearing loafers. 2) everyone wearing a hat is wearing it the way it was intended, not turned sideways. 3) everyones pants are pulled up and no underwear in sight. a much simpler time.
