What are the best mounts to use when mounting my big block Chevy in a model a frame?

Sturdy hand-made ones, that attach to the boxing plates, and another frame surface (2-plain attachment).

Here's a picture of the Speedway mount that would work well:

You will need to buy or fabricate a frame mount for it to sit on, and also use the rubber cushions between frame mount and engine mount:

That BBC is going to put a hell of a load on an aluminum bell housing, or transmission case, with just a front monunt.

Given the weight of the car, unless he's running slicks, the rear tires will spin, well before he can break something.

Note: R J has installed a mid-mount plate, between the engine and transmission.

Yes, going with a BBC I'd want a mid bellhousing plate or mounts, even if it had side mounts. Wouldn't be an issue if the bell was a steel ****tershield, but as you mentioned an aluminum wont handle much weight and HP.
These mid mounts make a good alternative to a full mid plate.
