Rite there is what you get in so.cal when that sun beats down on your head, little voices and all, happy to be in the cold north.......no lil voices

  2. Ya.., little voice saying "I'm sure glad we live in a nice climate, where we don't deep freeze our "leather cheerio" every time we sit down"! At least you guys get to save money, unplugging the fridge, and leaving your grocery's all over the yard. Shit, were still paying inflated electricity bills running the A/C. +66 deg. here today with the wind chill and all. :)

  4. You ever work on your race car at night with the garage door open in February with a T-shirt on, and the neighborhood dollies taking their evening stroll with shorts, and a halter top on.., the smell of out door grilling in the air, with Hotel California, playing on the radio, the ice cream truck cruising by without a grenade launcher aimed at him, my kids, outside shooting baskets with t-shirts, and shorts on.., its bitchen, you ought a try it some time. :)

  5. Priceless....:D

I hate your face right now Ric.

On the other hand, you poor bastards will never know the joy of studding the tires on your CR500 (sort of the AA/GS of motocross bikes),so that you can race on the frozen bay and throttle wheelie that bitch all the way down the front straightaway in front of all the little "pit bunnies" who are gonna be hanging out at the bar across the street later to talk to the "guy on that really fast red bike...OMG you're like...awesome...!" lol!

It's not a fair trade, but the ice racing is pretty awesome.:)

Ps:I hope you get heat stroke you smug prick.:D

  9. So that's what it looks like when snow falls in the state of Mizzery.

  10. Believe me guys, if I could go over to West Hollywood, and and get a real fairy wand, I'd give it a big wave in the air, and wish for July in Byron, ILL.

We are forecasted to get several inches more of the white shit tonight and again another batch by the weekend... So.. Fuk you man... just ... just ...just... Fuk you.

If you really cared about a brotha.. you would bottle some of that chit and bring it to Byron. I am sure Saxxon would trade some of that Canadian hooch for a case of it. If I had any I would be crackin' it open right about now..

Yep I cant get any traction with those Hoosiers at all.

  14. You guys wanna know what really Sucks out loud!? Tomorrow through Friday, I don't get to drive 1 1/2 hours+ to the shop (35 miles). Instead, I HAVE to drive Marcs Willys to Pomona (5miles) from the house, put on stink'n ass sun block, and chap stick, roast my ass off because of the good for nuth'n post card pain in the ass weather, and get fricken paid to hangout at the drags (Winter Nationals this weekend), and cruise the pits, where I am expected, to talk about piston, pins, rings, rods etc, CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS MISTREATMENT!? CRAP MAN! Then I'll probably have to go to dinner with famous drag racers..,double crapp!..,OOH THE HUMANITY! HOW MUCH ABUSE CAN A BRUTHA TAKE!?

Dear Heavenly Father..,thank you for your long suffering grace over me..,a high school educated car crazy sinner. Thank you for blessing me beyond my wildest dreams! Thank you most of all for your sacrifice on the cross. Please forgive me for making fun of the weather that has caused so much suffering. Please bless all these on the HAMB, your sons and daughters, at least as much, as you have me, and give them relief from this unprecedented weather. AMEN!

  18. Don't freak out, just a little confession & humble pie for me, & a little "good will towards men" for all you out there..,Now everyone go to their corner, and come out swinging again!

  19. I had been meaning to ask the same question. We'll be in a motorhome, and a fire/fire pit would be cool to hang out around and visit each night & have some laughs.

YES....you can camp on site...controlled respectful fires, I would do it in a grill, the track owner is FANTASTIC to us for this event....anything to help keep him happy.

We will be discussing Thur night....as of right now Fri & Sat night camping,

BUT with the long distance haulers we might be able to let some far off people in on Thur night......NOT YET FINALIZED....

On a side note......I wanted to put it out there that we have always been flexible about the RIGHT kinds of cars attending...we would rather NOT have a 1966 or earlier car attend with the wrong paint or overall look....and make an exception for a 67' Fairlane, Nova, Chevelle, Galaxy, Mopar, Comet, Cyclone, Impala etc...that is super close to the cut off....we have done this in the past....no one probably noticed....So if a clone of Grumpy Bill's Camaro asked to attend or a Sox Martin Cuda clone asked to attend or a 69 camaro FUNNY CAR or 70 Challenger Funny car......we would make the exception IF THE CAR FIT THE EVENT......this usually ends up being 1% or less and no one seems to notice or care....BUT we thought we would throw it out there so someone with a kick ass 67 chevelle, or Fairlane, Comet, etc doesnt assume they canot participate....IF THE CAR FITS the look and feel of the event.

We will NOT make an exception for a BRACKET car, Pro stock, pro-street, etc style car...even if it is pre-66......just wanted to put it out there....I think everyone on this thread gets this.....but we have had 1-2 WHINNERS that complain about things.....

SEE RULE # 3 of the Meltdown Rules - NO frickin WHINNING!!!!

Go to work to argue, whine, complain, cry, stomp your feet, look for things to be upset about.....Come to the Meltdown to step back in time....and have FUN!

  24. Scott, you gonna mount yours on the front bumper?, or make passes in reverse?

  25. YES! Camping is allowed with paid entry. We are expecting to have people arriving Thursday evening to be ready to race on Friday. Grilling is no problem. Fires are a concern - the firewood absolutely CANNOT have any nails or other junk that will be left behind - per the track owner. Those contained fire things are OK. This facility is nice and super clean when we arrive and we want to leave with it in the same condition. No problem with tenting it, you will be close by for any unscheduled midnight entertainment...

Edit: Guess I type too slowly using just two greasy fingers....

Not to poke the Dragon here especially since the Dragon does arm exercises... but... I fully understand the rules and the exception made in the interest of the event. I also completely trust the MDA to make the right call. Case in point... Mark Krupa in his not so old FED... gotta love the noise and the low 6 second passes + the guy is a riot and has the right attitude... or...the Paris brothers twin RED. Does not meet the criteria but certainly entertained and was an experience to have seen it. I remember seeing it in Super Stock and Drag Illustrated back in my wayward youth and thought it was the coolest thing ever... Seeing it in person made me realize that I had NO idea how cool this thing was... Totally the right call to include this monster

My point ??? Not sure what it was... oh ya... nope lost it again...

OK here it is... I would hate to see a post 66 car get let in only to have a car that meets the criteria miss the cut off date. That's it... that's my concern.

As for you folks whining about the criteria ???

1 - You are the wrong people in the first place because you simply don't get it
2 - Get you ass off your convo pro equiped turbo lazy-boy and build something that meets the rules

Dammit - broke another soap box...

We hear you on that......guys missing the cut off due to to many cars.....

LET YOUR BUDDIES know to Pre-Register EARLY......its Free and easy to do...

If your car isnt complete, or you cannot attend, or you break prior to July....

LET US KNOW, we will give your spot to someone else......

Not sure if either of those fast rails you mentioned will be attending.....we definately have enough cars...
