Would love to know more about this shot, and the aircraft. thought the top two pictures were of a Northrop A-17, but the wheel farings are not right, what is it??

Bottom looks like a Curtiss P-12, anyone know for sure.

    Thanks for posting!

Thanks, there's a whole photo album of them if my sister can remember where she put it. These are ones that fell out and my Mom put in an envelope. Speaking of my Mom..... She's the one on the left, then my aunt and uncle. Circa 1921, the train still exists, one of my older cousins has it.

You're close - it's an export version of the Northrop Gamma 2C, predecessor to the A-17 (and Douglas SBD Dauntless). The biplane below is an export version of the Curtiss F11C Goshawk.
    Many more photos here.

Thanks, and thanks for the link; these are incredible pictures of a little-known part of U.S. history, aircraft exports before World War II.

Two examples of my fave '58 Chevy model - Bel Air 2-door hardtop. Similar to the Impala in body style, but shared almost no common parts above the belt line.

But what's with the rake of the two-tone blue one?

  22. Wheelers in Standish Michigan. Still there. I've eaten there many times over the last 50+ years

  23. In Escanaba Michigan - Sayklly's is still there. They make some great chocolate! Pretty sure this store is seen in the movie "Escanaba In Da Moonlight" with Jeff Daniels as da buckless yooper

  24. Tip-up Town - Houghton Lake Michigan. This looks like from the mid 50s. Great fishing and some great fun, it's been going on for years, eh?

  25. Greenbush Michigan. Barely a spot on the map along the sunrise side on US23 north of Standish Michigan.
