  3. ^That's a great start.

    I'll borrow a timeline from my pal Clayton, as I believe it is helpful here;

    25-32 - "gow job" era

    While these aren't hard boundaries (there seems to have been plenty of 'overlap' in styles), it seems to me that;

    Speedsters seem to be characterized by T running gear and either hand-formed or aftermarket bodies. Gow-jobs, IMO tended to be based on 17-25 T's (with a few Chevy's thrown in) - Overhead valve conversions and Buffalo wire wheels were common upgrades. Supe-jobs often featured downdraft carbs and a gradual move toward production wheels (32-35 Ford wire wheels were popular). By '38 many "hot irons" were built on the (now cheap) A and '32 platforms...Cragar, Riley, and Winfield heads were popular upgrades on A & B motors.

    There are plenty of build threads associated with each 'style'...what "era" tickles your fancy the most?

    Thanks F-6Garagerat that looks to be what I'm after. I think that the early 40's rods are what I'm looking for when it comes to a build thread, I'm tossing the idea around about making a 4 banger model a roadster.. Thanks for the help gwhite.
