The engineering that went into many of these 6 cylinder engines is just over the top. Thanks to everyone who posted the super photo's of some of the coolest drag cars I have seen in a long time. Jimbo
I've searched but couldn't find a 57 Chevy called the "Jolly Green Giant" it ran on LI in the mid 60s a neighbor of mine bought it and drove it on the street around 66 till 70 about. It had a GMC 302 in it I think they claimed 292 inches or so, it was pretty hot. Jeff Trelinger (sp) owned it and was my neighbor. This was in Syosset LI NY. Anybody hear of it or know the car. Sorry no pictures. Pat
RON: I just went threw the pic on the Potobucket page you have, there are a lot of really good pics of the C/SR, E/A, D/D, cars you drove!!! I love the C/SR turned E/A...
If that is the tan colored Nova Patterson ran as a SS/I car in the mid 80's, I believe Patterson sold it to Bob Fordyce out here on the west coast. If you need a ph# for him, PM me.
Not sure, but it was probably a little latter than that. The car was painted black when Cotton sold it to Danny in the late '84 or early '85. Im sure they kept it a couple of years trying to do their Pro Street build before they eventually sold it. Not sure if it was sold directly to Patterson from Danny and Darren or if it changed hands a few more times before Patterson ended up with it, but it was probably the late 80's or later before he had Cotton's car. If Danny and Darren had done a full tilt Pro Street build with it, it would have been hard to put it back into Super Stock trim depending on how much it was butchered up. Just not sure how far they actually went with it before they sold it.
cool to see the Clifford 6 cyl tall tunnel ram style intake... sold one about 15 years ago and had never seen one before that. a six poppin dragster or altered would be a ball for no box/ footbrake class today
