Ok so thru the years I have collected many left over parts, so my question is has anybody used these with any success, or are they a bucket of suck?
    1. I have several rear Model A bones. Has anybody has luck welding up the seam
And using this for anything else other than on a stock model A?
    2. F-1 spindles, has anybody cut off the bolt on steering arm mount and used
Say speedway bolt on lower steering arms for a cross steer set up?
    3. Front model A bones, basically same question as number one?
    4. Model A spindles junk or can they be modified to be used to mount later
Model juice brakes to, if so what years will work? F-1 brakes?
    5. Model A axles, even though they are not dropped, are the king pin bosses the
Same diameter as later years? If so what years fit.
So this is just things I have in the pile that I have questions about, all though it may be common knowledge to some, I figured it may help me and others out also...

#1. I'd sell them to someone to use on a stock A rear.
#2. Don't know, never used em.
#3. A front wishbones are fine for use on an A or split and used on a hot rod.
#4. Same as #1, though guys sometimes use them with juice brakes.
#5. All of the Ford passenger car and light truck(pickup)axles 28-48 have same kingpin diameter and perch bolt diameter. A axles are good for dropping because of the longer distance between perch and kingpin.

  5. 2. F1 spindles/stubs on a passenger car I beam ( model A etc ) the camber is wrong due to the F1 spindle have a different kingpin inclination .

Negative ghostrider. F-1 has the same kingpin inclination as early Ford. F-100 however, does not. The F-1's are fine. As someone else said just shave off the ugly...

So the f-1's won't work on am A or passenger car I beam due to the inclination correct! I have not tried fitting it

I've used F1 spindles on many 28-48 Ford Passenger axles. No problem.

  10. Ahaa! you are likely correct . I had a customers project that had a Model A axle with what he was told were F1 and the camber was shocking , as you point out they were likely F100. I shall consider myself on a warning and stand quietly facing the corner of the room for 5 minutes !

  14. I made a hybrid unsplit wishbone for the front of my av8 out of a stock model A wishbone and a 34 ford truck. I will also most likely be making the rear radius rods for my 36 ford rear in the av8 out of model A rear bones. In my eyes no old ford parts are junk, you just need to get creative.

I keep old model A parts. They are are always good for something. I used a model A front axle to mock up my roadster and then used a 34 dropped. They for good for reference even if you don't use them.

I think most of this stuff is gonna be used on a fiberglass T bucket I just nabbed off Craigslist. It will be sorta a mish-mash of parts, not traditional HAMB fodder, but something I hope to get my boy involved with.. Of course he is 15 and more Interested in the cute blonde that sits in front of him in home room, than making sparks in the garage, but as soon as he figures out that chicks dig guys with cool cars he may come around... Unless those chicks dig guys with Honda accords and neons, and in that case he better find a better class of honey! Anybody have any pics of parts mentioned above that they have put into use? Just for giggles?

My son was driving my friend's T track car around Garner State Park one summer when we were there, I had written "Garner Girls Ride Free." across the top of the windshield with a grease pencil, He stopped at the camp store and a big harsh-voiced, but nice, woman about 40 or so strode up to him and said "I'm a Garner Girl, can I ride with you?" He was about 17 at the time and just started the car and took off. He just didn't know how to handle that one. The car was a hit with all the Garner Girls though.

Usually you only get one shot at a Mrs. Robinson growing up. If he had taken her for a ride it probably would have ruined him for life. I passed on mine also and later I found out she gave the best "instruction" you could ever hope for from any teacher.:cool::D:D:D

Drove her home she offered up a night cap, one thing led to another, and as I was getting dressed her freaky old man walked out of the closet! Bastard was watching us the whole time, it was a set up..lol I was invited back but never went:eek: oh well I sure don't regret it she put on a stellar performance:D.... Anyway anybody have any pics of how they used any of the parts mentioned above? Not the Mrs. Robinson pics, although you can send them to me directly hahahahahahaah we need to keep it PG on here...lol
