Appears mild custom left for dead. Dana 44 rear end with coil overs. Hood has lynch pin holes if for a gasser? Held together with sheet metal screws. Later model frame. Front fenders looked like a baseball bat walked down both sides http://s464.photobucket.com/user/dinokruz/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG1199.jpg.html I found a front clip including grill from a nice guy building a non traditional rod. http:// http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr3/dinokruz/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG957776.jpg
The fenders I got were way nicer instant upgrade. http://s464.photobucket.com/user/dinokruz/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG1229.jpg.html Ran into a problem with hood align to grill http://s464.photobucket.com/user/dinokruz/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMAG1229.jpg.html
Need some help with the fitment and hardware I'm missing from top of grill and hood latch. Seeking pics or advice on getting alignment corrected. Grill hood fenders all from donor should match. Compared hood to hood from original truck same height and crown.no latch on original
That's why they get pinned. I think you can get a repop latch from sacramento ford. As for alignment screw it together and step back and look, adjust accordingly. You cannot align the latch without a latch so anything you do until you get all the pieces is just going to be general setup.
Most if not all your hood alignment problems will go away if you use a '39 Deluxe passenger car grille or a '40-'41 pickup grille instead of the '40 Deluxe grille you've got now. But...your real disfunction is trying to mate a Ford pickup body/fenders/bed to a late model frame. No matter how good of a job you do it'll still look like Frankenstein...IMHO. ANY Ford frame from '37 to '40 - plus '41 pickups - would work just fine under the body you've got. And they're easy to find and not all that expensive. You're just setting yourself up for disappointment if you continue down the road you've chosen...again In My Humble Opinion. Good luck!
Thanks for the replies. The grill info clears up some of the questions. I havent had any luck on finding a frame local not rotted for my 36 but ill keep looking. A line on one in texas oklahoma missouri and western tennessee would be appreciated
