That is a great looking setup you have there. Can't wait to follow your progress. It will be interesting to see what you do with the hood. Keep it coming!

Thanks! The hood top was completed yesterday and extended the line on the cowl into the lower edge of the hood top. Kenny is working on the sides now and I plan to louver them when they are done. We have been working on an idea to incorporate a couple of Zeus fasteners towards the top of each of the sides to hold them in place and make removal and installation easy.

Yep.. John, it's about time I got some louvers punched by you again. Can you believe it's been almost 20 years since you louvered my 56 hood??!

I took a few progress photos of the hood last night. I think it is turning out really nice. Final fit and gaps will be done today.

I keep coming back to your thread, lol. Hood and sides look amazing, it would kill me to punch louvers in such a nice piece. I like what you did with the hood fasteners, keep it simple. Nice!

Thanks for the compliment on hood and sides. It was the plan from the start to louver them, but I am going to put some time into a nice layout. I may end up louvering the sides and not the top.

As far as the louvers go, I have never done them or talked with anyone who has. Do you see any shrinkage in size of the panel after louvering?

I had 125 louvers punched in the hood of my 1956 F-100 and the hood was perfect with exception of very minor flaws around the louvers which are to be expected. That's my only experience with it. Johnny99 here on the HAMB is the one who punched them and I am sure he could add alot more details to this answer. He has been punching hotrod louvers for many years now and he is the only guy I know who i'd hand off a perfect hood to, but I am sure there are plenty of guys out there and the process is similar, but I know there is some finesse involved in creating the dies, setting up the press, layout, etc.

I'll ask john to chime in here...
