Not much to post up, I dragged an old project out and have been toying around with it. Built of parts from the leftovers pile, Revell 32 3window roof on an AMT 5window body, motor from a Revell 'Orange Crate' 32 Tudor. God knows what the rest is from! Chassis next to a Tommy Ivo project. Putting the body together. First mock up. I think you all may have seen these before? Cheers, Doc.

1969 Chevelle SS396 ........ a replica of a car that I owned back in the day ..... only changes to the AMT kit are the addition of a front bench seat and a column mounted shifter

Yeah it was. Took me 3 hr. BMF the whole car besides the roof and windows. To get that real real shinny Spectraflame color for it. keeping it a clear roof. Kinda like a Kool concept roof form the 50's.

Mockups of a couple of parts box body projects I'm working on. Both have scratchbuilt frames and suspensions.
I'll see your 1/87 scale 57 Ford with my 1/87 Deuce 5 window. Mine is a Jordan kit. Parts all come on trees like larger scales minus chrome. I did my chrome with cigarette pack foil sprayed with photo mount adhesive and rubbed on with a dental tool. I sprayed it in 90's Ford Sapphire. I plan on mix and mating several kits to make a variety of rods for my HO railroad. I have a Deuce roadster on the go as well.
How come the modelers keep searching for and starting a new thread (or multiple threads) each week? You're essentially closing and burying the thread each week. Why not bump a continuous thread each Sunday like is already done with a lot of other threads such as "sitting and rotting", "homemade tools and equipment", "The History of Los Angeles", etc? The advantage is that you would be able to page back to previous weeks and years eventually. Think how easy it would be to find a model that you wanted to view again that was posted a few months ago! Though I haven't built in a long time, I still like to see the work and I believe you guys would have better participation and viewership with a continuous string vs. 52 of them a year.
Doesn't sound like a bad idea to me. Starting a new project inspired by a pic from a show that I found in "sunday models" and would like more info on the truck. But I can't remember which thread I found it in. Anybody else got thoughts?
Hi, guys...Also working on the Jordan Miniatures' '32 Coupe and '29 hiboy in 1/87 for my H-O miniature layout of hometown Santa Clara, when I was very young. The cars are sorta-scale versions of local older rodders' early cars, Donny Tebash's Hiboy '32 and Harry Angelo's '29... There are many more 1/87 available from Williams Bros. Models, now with a new owner, who's bringing back everything the company ever did! I also have some others from old defunct companies...'34 Tudor, '34 Five window, '30 Chev roadster... Hard to do without my special optic glasses!
Atwater Mike. I'd sure like to see some pictures of those other kits. I like the fact that more may available. I went nuts when I found the Jordan kits, and bought a bunch incase they discontinued them. FWIW Jordan includes parts replacement forms in there kits and I've had to use them on more than one occasion to replace broken or lost pieces. They replace them free of charge. I think the bigger scale companies could learn from this.
I built this holder to make it easier to spray the late '50s six-cylinder rail that I'm building for the H.A.M.B. Plastic Model Builders build-off. The rubber band (red arrow) is key to putting enough pressure on the rear axle (has a steel wire running through it that fits into the holder arms).
Great idea mate, thank you. May I be so brash as to suggest to my fellow modellers that we just call it SUNDAY MODELS, without putting a date up and then it will, as intended, to run continuously week after week. Time will tell Cheers Rod
