I took apart this Holley carb to clean and rebuild. The attached photo shows where the idle screw enters the chamber. Does this look normal or has the screw been over tightened at some point in its past? The metal looks pooched in a bit. OK to rebuild or no good? Thanks in advance!

I'm not a "carb expert". It's definitely been expanded from running the screw in, but I see no reason it would cause a problem. The throttle plates open away from it, so they wont hit the raised part. You could carefully take the area down a bit, but I'd rather leave it alone and not chance messing anything up.

Question to be asked, did you see this carb working? As in will the ideal mixture adjust? If yes, run it.
