So I am new to flatheads, never owned one....

I now have a 1937 flathead fitted to my new 30 coupe. Are there good suppliers I need to be aware of for parts/accessories for these engines? It seems many have gone for later engines, I ***ume these early ones are "OK" and not 'deficient' in any way??

I'm somewhat familiar with the Ford flathead V8, but nowhere an expert. My suggestion to you is to join HAMB's sister site, The Ford Barn. There is an "Early V8" forum there and those guys can answer all your questions.
