Hey those look like early 30's Chevy shocks. I have a set on the back of my T. Also running Houdailles in the front. Looking GOOD!!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G730A using H.A.M.B. mobile app
From what info I have found they are 41-48 ford but not sure of application. Finished up the caps today and put them on. I think they are staying.
Yeah I like them. I like the stock A caps but with 21" wheels, the stock cap is all there is. I wanted something different. Hopefully winter will end here in Michigan sometime soon. Snow flurries today and still cold until next week. All I can work on is stuff that I can bring in the house.
Spring is finally here. Got the coupe moved out and the T in the garage. Need to get some things done that I have been neglecting. First was the firewall. The stock T firewall did not come down far enough to meet the floorboard so I took the firewall out and added about an inch to the bottom. Now the floorboard rests up against it. Also got the shell mounted to the A radiator. I went to the Eastside A's swap with a few buddies and I was looking for certain things. Only came home with two but only spent 9.00 dollars so not bad. First thing was the mirror. I didn't want to buy a reproduction mirror so I found this one for 5.00. Cut it up, added a curved piece of tube to it and fastened it with a model A terminal nut. Last thing that was bugging me was the upper water inlet. I had to make them match up and I think I finally have it. Both the neck on the radiator and head have been angle cut and welded up to match. Again, making the radiator a straight neck when I had it re-cored would have saved tons of time... Also a small thing but I found some original A headlight conduits so I drilled the shell for some grommets and mounted them up. Lastly some random pics that I took while shuffling cars. Kind of getting a Stroker Mcgurk feeling to it to me.
Lol! I appreciate it Tiny! Got the rear shocks done today. They are ford but unsure of year. They work and they helped the back end a ton.
Wow! Your T is really coming along nicely. Love those knockoff's they turned out very nice, I might have to steal that idea, if that's ok with you. I need to fill the hole on mine and keep the stock caps underneath them.
Thanks guys! I hate fake patina but on this car I want the finish to look like it is an old aged paint job. I thinned some black and brushed it on thin. I am now in the process of using green 3M scothbrite pads to break through the black a bit, not too much though. Going a little heavier on areas where there would be more constant contact. Then I will try and buff it out. We'll see.
Some pics from today. It looks a ton better in person, my camera can't really capture what it actually looks like. I am aging it a bit, and polishing as I go. I think it is going to look correct for this old gal. I used rustoleum gloss black and thinned it down a bit, wet sand it a tad to show the brush marks and polish. Still a ways to go but getting there.
