    Hi all
    I recently finished this 33 Willys using a stock height resin body from Ed at Drag City Castings.
    I used an old floor pan/chassis from my spares box and an engine from one of the Revell 32's with a twin Predator Carb manifold.Not shown in the pics are the headers and the slightly modified exhaust system from the Rev 32 kit
    The chassis was cleaned up and unwanted holes/mounts etc were filled or removed. A flat crossmember was added to the front for the transverse spring
    Front and rear ends are also from a Rev 32 kit. I shortened the rear radius rods for the 32 rear end and added Rat Roaster wheels and tires. The 32 rear end is unmodified.
    The dash was smoothed and a photo-etched gauge panel added. I had to put in a small transmission tunnel to clear the gearbox. Seat is cut from the Speedwagon floor panel and scribed Evergreen was used to try to match the pleated seat pattern.
    The body needed only minimal cleanup but I had to spend a lot of time trimming and gringing to get the front fenders to line up with the running boards - I dry fitted all the parts before painting but found that during assembly the chassis pushed the running boards out when I put it up into the body so I had to go back and re trim.
    I added a small filler panel between the lower rear fenders This was made by widening a Speedwagon gas tank cover use (i used 2 cover to make one longer one)
    Paint is Testors Gloss Yellow

    Hi Chris, nice build mate. Before someone else chimes in and tells you, just have a look at last weeks Sunday models, and you will notice that some times it is a hell of a battle to search sunday models, cause it gets many varied titles. So some clever bloke suggested if we just call it sunday models (rather than nominate a date), that way our little model thread will just keep rolling on and on like lots of other threads. I guess it is something that will take awhile for us all to get used to too cause not everybody posts every week.
    If anyone else can explain it any better than I have done, please do.
    Happy days
    Rod

    ps Good to see a Willys that ain't a gasser

    Every weekend I just go to the (The Hokey Ass Massage board) page.

    Then look at each page for about 3-4 pages back to see if it's been started yet. only cuz sometimes the "Search" dont r cant find it.

  10. Save yourself some hassle and subscribe to the "Sunday Models" thread. then you don't have to look for it. You simply go to your subscriptions whenever you come on board, and there it is.

    As always, there are some amazing models here this week. I'm always blown away by the detail you guys give to such small cars and the paint jobs are out of this world. Anyway here's an 1/8 scale vintage midget I just finished except for the decals; which are being made.

    Ha! That's funny-in that last shot the drill looks almost to scale with the Midget.

    They're actually full scale,it's the can of RedBull that's actually bigger than life size.

    Nice models this week. I don't agree with fat141. I looked at last weeks Sunday models 1st, then saw todays post with a date and knew I was at the right place.

    Just picked up Revell's '32 five-window coupe at a Michael's store while the wife was off looking for rolls of ribbon or something. I'm planning on turning this into John Milner's American Graffiti deuce. More in the future when its complete.

    Guys, post here in a continous thread rather than starting a new thread every Sunday;
    (subscribe to it or place it in your favorites)
    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=869868

    I proposed the ongoing "Sunday Model" thread last week;

  19. The '64 Chevy looks just like the one I helped trailer at the Lambrecht Auction last summer...

  20. That car was one of the untitled cars kept in the show room so it's a brand new from the factory catr and is super clean all original (tires included and with little vissible issues) the guy paid $75,000 for it. If you guys are interested in reference for weathering cars check out the photos.... I'll find a link to the thread I posted ...

  21. Revell '49 Merc Woody. Wood grained with paint - NO decals on the model. 390 Ford engine, lowered, '54 Olds caps, grille and bumpers from the custom Merc kit.

  22. Da-yam I love your work man! I wish I had the cahoonies to scratch build in that scale. One day I'm going to anti up and order you to build me a model of a very close family friends sprinter.
    I'm from a background of scratch building WWII aircraft in 1/72 scale, 1/32 and 1/24-5 is the limit of what I can do! (Trust me, small is easier!)

  23. Some people just won't freakin' listen (or read). I'm a really old dog and I can learn new tricks. I'm only posting in "Sunday Models" from now on.

    If you took the time to read the OP's later post, he missed last week's thread and as soon as he found out he re-posted in the "Sunday Models" thread. Not everyone checks the board every day (or even week)

    Hi mate, sorry that you don't agree with me, don't matter, but read last weeks posts and the posts following yours this week and see if YOU get.
    Thanks Chris for taking it in the spirit it was meant.
    Cheers to our happy modellers, now I am off to the appropriate sunday models, hope to see ya there.
