Thanks, I kind of like the last one you did so far. This is the second time I have owned this car. It spent 10 years in Connecticut before I bought it back in 2011.

Could someone please paint the studebaker pictures the gold on the roadster? Also do white, off white, or black around the windows? And do full 50's Buick hubcaps on the wheels? Thanks!

i've got a request if someone has time......

i don't know if my reference pics are useable or not and i'm just looking for a rough idea....

thinking on wheel choice and color for the 62 unibody big window i keep coming to a coupla common grounds that i haven't seen before. now my truck is blown apart so i'll have to reference a found pic for the truck.

the wheel choice i keep seeming to want to roll to is Cragar Eliminators. probably the fully polished version and i will probably detail the centers like the pick i'm posting. so thats where i'm thinking wheel wise....

color i'm gonna throw it off a bit again and go outside of the box a little and there 2 base colors i'm considering.. one would be 50s/60s VW Agave Green and the other is Desert Khaki i think it's called from the new subaru crosstrek kind of a tan/greenish a little similar to sand green from vw buses from the 50s(yeah i still have a thing for the old vw colors) don't know if i should post a link of a new car here even if it is for color reference....

if the refence pics are workable i can dig for others....
    anyhow i'll

So the wife doesn't really like the flaked roof look so far. How about a blue or teal top only. And maybe with just the side scallop in the same color with the top and body tan

  12. How about even further outside the box ;)

i like it but have a dislike for wide whites on mags for the most part, make those wides skinny (or maybe blackwalls even) and i'd like it more but i can already see i like the eliminators on there. detailing inside the spokes black/gray/?? i think gives them a bit of a hurst/indy/fenton vibe making a newer wheel look older.

i've tosses back and forth on color theory on this truck since i got it. first thinking was 50s vw bus sand green with a palm green roof(same way buses came). maybe throw some flake at the palm green maybe not. also considered vw sealing wax red/chestnut brown again 50s bus colors simply because i think these trucks look good red. i say that and am not usually much of a red fan. i threw the VW Agave green around because i have 2 gallons of it sitting on the shelf and it's one of my favorite colors ever.... the subaru color popped on me when we stopped by to price a new car for my wife and i saw that color and it's kinda similar to sand green. i may take an old sand green sample i have out an compare them in person.

Thanks Moose. Blue looks best so far. Are seems like your the only one PSing stuff. Sorry for so many requests but I do appreciate your help.

As for the truck above. I liked it before. And I like the green version. I'd have to see blackwalls but the wide whites look great IMO gives a bit of a 60's custom vibe I think

60s customs did not have wide whites. skinny whites, double/triple pinstripe whites, redlines, bluelines, yellalines yeah. you might could skate it on a early 60s vibed build but anything focused after about '62 and they are just wrong.

some folks dig the wides and mags look. i think it can look ok but i'm a skinnies guy. usually skinnies and supremes. a few sets of cragar s/s, rockets, fentons, keystones thrown in all with skinny whites. but again i ran supremes when they were a different wheel to run. to may of them around now. the detailed eliminators look like fenton sharks/indys/hurst that i've always wanted to run on a truck...

I was just talking looks to me it reminded me of a 60's thing. I was born in the 80's so anything past that and I'm probably wrong haha. Like you said some do like wides with mags and some don't. I like it on that. Carry on.

i'm all about do whatever you like. hell i got flack for running supremes(cragar wannabe's as some called them) 15-20 years ago. i've always said if ya like something on your car thats all that matters.

tried explaining that to a customer from the old shop who was all about trying to win a trophy on the first outing with a freshly finished car at Goodguys Charlotte. after a long talk of enjoy the car for yourself it was your ideas put to motion it still ended in disappointment when he did win a trophy.

i really need to learn to play with PS just so i can play with concepts i have....

hmmm. ok now we're getting some different perspective. what was the color you used on the first version. looks a little like vw cyber green or there is a similar subi color i think.

i like both colors used but i gotta say i think the wheels pop more with the green version. hmmmm.......

I found this early 50s VW and tried to match the color. BTW, the wheels with that type insert were Fenton. I bet someone is reproducing them.

Edit: I found a SUV the correct color and also I added a little out of the box, a two tone.

    Damn Lee.....

i like all three of those versions hahaha.... between this and moose throwing the other green in my mind is now racing 90mph. don't worry it's usually at 75 anyhow haha A.D.D. can be a bitch. my wife is just learning after 15 years my mind is usually doing at least 2 things at a time.

got a tip that there may be an UBBER cheap new set of supremes at autofair this weekend and since i'm on a HEAVY budget it may fall prey to my usual supremes skinny whites formula.

i did get a idea put into my head thats something to think about. the Cragar Eliminators come in 15 and 17 inch versions. i had planned 15x7 front and 15x8 rear. a buddy mentioned upping it but keeping the classic look by running the 17s and using the 235/60/15 1/2" pinstripe whites that were used on Lincolns 10-15 years ago. i don't like BIG wheels but think the 17s are still a sensible size. though difference between running the 15s and 17s is about $500 with both wheels and tires being about $40-75 more each on the 17. as i said other than a set of old original 16 cragar s/s i ran once 15s are usually my comfort zone but it's an interesting theory....ken....

I would love to see what this truck would like with a little photoshop. Maybe small kidney bean halibrands?
