Biggest bang for the buck. These drop right in and are period correct. Back in '59 we put these on my friends '52 Bel Air 2 dr H/T. They look like they belong there imo.

53 Buick, 49 Ford turned 90 degrees, 40 Ford Chevrons mounted vertically, 39 Lincoln teardrops, late model Caddy "slits" like they put on lowrider S10 Chevy pickups, Chrysler "gunsite" tailights from the late 50's, fill in the stock locations and mount anything you want under the trunk lid in the roll pan...

  9. '58 Chrysler, if you can find them, lose the big bezel.

Thanks for the pics. I have decided not to use the chrome bezels and put them upside down kinda frenched in but I am still not real sure I like it.
Still have a bunch of work to do.

  13. I thought you might fit them as on the Kaiser, as they make a nice tip to the rear fender. Either with or without the bezel.

I tried that but the angle just wasn't right and I thought that the pointy end facing down might go with the Pontiac shark fin belt line trim I have for the car. But like I said I am not sure I like them at all but I have cut a giant hole and don't want to cut the other till I am sure.

  23. My vote is for either the Packard Clipper sore thumbs or tunneled Harley tombstones.

Not sure how they would look on a sedan or coupe, but on my 49 GMC I cut and narrowed an el-camino bumper to form a functional roll pan look. Those bumpers have tail lights in them, and it looked good, and worked out pretty nice for that era truck. I don't have a picture of it complete with the bed on the truck, but this will give you an idea. I tucked it in to look like a roll pan, but it also functioned as a bumper, with tail lights. I can't take credit for the idea, it used to be done fairly regularly back in the day. If you like round lights, I think 73 El-Camino had the same set up but with round tail lights in the bumper.
