Love the coverage of the show and the Hot Wheels gasser, well, love it all actually. I have a question. Is the 47 Chev coupe a revell kit? I don't believe I've seen one. I'd love to do a torpedo back version. Keep up the good work.
The Chevy is an upcoming kit from Galaxie LTD.... Due out some time around August. The ones shown in my show coverage, were all built and kit bashed from advance test shot samples.... I can't wait to get my hands on one!!!!
I have a problem with finishing models, I always seem to start a new project or ten part way through each other project. one day I will finish a model car.............one day! This is a Revell 32 coupe, some slight changes so far, destined to be a lakes style flathead powered car. Open to any ideas though, thinking of a bonnet made from 2 40 Ford items like the Chrisman Bros Coupe. Cheers, Doc.
YES! Back in the early days nobody built replicas. Custom was King. But I think those were later than 57-58. I'm pretty sure the AMT 40 came out in early 60's. Same with the T-bird. Still, both are awesome builds.
my friend says he uses oven cleaner,,, NOW, I never have but he says that's what he uses, swears it works perfect. Check with others or try on sumthin' you don't care about first.
Yes it works. I used Easy Off in the yellow can. Use a plastic tub with a lid, like Cool Whip. Spray it good and wet, seal it up, next day the paint should wash off. Might have to scrub some spots.
I have used Pine Sol cleaner available from any grocery store straight from the bottle. I use a glass jar that the part/car will fit in and just watch it for a few days. The paint will wash off leaving all the details of the original model. it smells good too.
Actually the Metro is a Jimmy Flintstone resin trans kit.It comes with the body, interior floor, bumpers, doors. You need a AMT '50 Chevy pickup kit to supply the frame and drivetrain
Ok, some smaller stuff? I went looking for some pics of my stuff but can only find older stuff. My memory is crap, supposedly I have a name buy who knows what it is? Anyway I probably posted this up before so does anyone still want to see any of this rubbish....er............again? Some 1/32 work.............. VW salt car.... 1/32 34, brass chassis, Hemi.......... Or bigger, 1/24 Parts box special.......... 57 Ford Funny car body, roof from I think a 57 Chev Funny car and stock roof rear(?) Some Nascar chassis, Poncho(?) motor Lenco from plastic tubing. And last a 37 Ford with a Chev rear. Or a bitser Harley Springer, yeah........rear wheel is going and these are the only tyres I have. These are all built from the parts box and wrecked models, I like building like this better than out of a new kit box. Did a 32 roadster that won 'Best in Show' in the world finals (But that was a slot car dragster!). Well................ Sorry guys, I don't have much more I need to buy myself a digital camera, all I have is a 35mm Nikon with a 600mm lens and a 2x converter. Film.......pfht! Doc. (Bored on Easter day...)
They came off of 3 diff HotWheels car. those rims dont come with those tires so I had to fine other HW to swap them with. Thanks,
