Very nice! but, aren't you concerned the metal will get too thin when you file so much?

 

The trick is to just skim the fender (or whatever) with the file to show up the high and low spots and then work it with the hammer and dolly. Repeat as many times as necessary.

I got to see it in person at the show.. The sheet metal work is incredibly unreal.

Here are a couple of pictures I snapped at the LSRU of Weesner and Hervatin discussing the design intentions of Lit Up.

It has to be a great feeling on both sides of this conversation to see your art come to life and to be able to pick the brain of the man behind the paintings.

 

2 absolute masters coming together to combine talents, a masterpiece was inevitable

 

Jimmy and the truck were at the SLSRA Easter Show. It is awesome to be able to walk around the truck and see the fit and finish!! I know paint will eventually come, but it looks AMAZING in bare metal!!! Jimmy is a real master.

 

Well sorry it's been awhile since a update. I was really down to the wire trying to get the truck ready to take to the Lone Star Round up. I did get it back together and was able to make it there. This is one great show if you never been you need to go. I would like to thank everyone that told me they really liked the truck. Also a big thank you to Lee Pratt for picking my truck as his pick at the show. Well since the last update I sand blasted the grille and drilled all the spot welds out so it was in separate pieces.
Drilled new holes to bolt all the pieces back together. I did this so it would be easier to chrome plate and get a better job.
I then removed all the dents and fixed any rough spots. I then polished it to a 320 grit finish.
The front bumper needed a lot of work yet. I welded up the bumper bolt holes. I finished welding the center piece in that made the bumper wider. And welded the rear backing plate on the bumper.
I then filed the whole bumper. And boxed them for shipping.
I sent the front and rear bumper and the grille off to Jon Wright at Custom Chrome in Ohio. They did a outstanding job on the chrome plating. I am now working on the front end of the truck. I am going to weld the fenders to the header panel and the lower valance panel.
I am going to start posting from my I-phone so I hope to do updates a lot more often.
