Most of my HAMB activity has been on the mobile app (and I couldn't find a way to start a thread there!). I've been lurking for a while, and recently started posting comments on threads I've subscribed to. Anyway, I finally sat down at our desktop to open this thread and formally introduce myself.

My name is Matt, and I'd consider myself mostly an OT kind of guy. I grew up with Studebakers in my blood, and a general appreciation for all kinds of old cars.

Though it isn't running right now, I still own the '59 Studebaker Lark VI 2-door that I drove through high school, college, and the early years of my marriage. When my wife and I had our first daughter, we had to sell one of our cars to buy a station wagon. She had a nice little '79 Toyota Corolla, and I had my Stude. She said I'd hate myself if I sold the Lark, so the Toyota hit the road. Just one of the many reasons I love her!

Upon retirement, my '59 will be built in the pro-touring style, sitting on an S-10 chassis with 4.3 V-6 and 5-speed. Don't hold your breath for a build on this forum... :p

However, seeing the builds on here has inspired me to -- someday -- build a late-50's-style radical custom out of an early postwar Studebaker business coupe. I'm choosing the modifications and laying it out in my head now, and only hope that the somewhat-scarce parts I plan to use can be found when the time comes

Anyway, that's about all I have to say for now. I'll see you on the HAMB!

    Hi Mat
Any interest on a 1946 or 1959 Studebaker truck?

No, I'm not looking for any projects at the moment. But, if you haven't already, you should start a thread to help find new owners for your trucks. :)
