    There are a few flathead FEDs on my web page.

    http://www.flatheaddrag.com/

    The main thing about flathead dragsters is the headers coming out the side of the block have to be planned for by either low upper frame rails or making sure there is room for them between the frame rails, and there has to be room for the starter with either a wide chassis or room for it to stick out between the rails.

    I'll see if I can find any pics of the Woody Gilmore chassis'd AA/FD we ran a few years ago. We called The Headhunter, ran an iron 392 with iron heads. If I remember right, it had one-piece fiberglass front body work. I've always loved the full-bodied dragsters.

    old post but...

    ATF website states the FED's are for sale.... the things Conder wants to do with Good and Evil is very creative, i just hope it comes to fruition.

  15. Here's some really crude scans. The pictures were taken circa 1962 in Sioux City Iowa.

    Damn, I worked at that airbase for the last few years. Some of the old boyus that still work there remember when they used to hold the drags on the back runway. I might have to see if they still have some of the pics.

    also, if anyone knows of any magazine articles from back in the day, or even books, that show plans or blue prints of "digger" frames then please let me know.

    let see em...[/QUOTE]

    There was a paperback novel sized book put out by Petersen Publishing years ago titled "Hot Rod Chassis" with plan drawings of a Kent Fuller or Logghe Bros style FED.... very detailed with a great accompanying article...Your bound to find it on Epaytoomuch or at the swapmeets

  27. Back when I was in High school, I stumbled across a book in the school library that had a bunch of tech. articles in it. Can't remember what the book title was anymore, but I did photo copy an article called "Building a Championship Dragster" It fallows along as Roy Steen and Frank Huszar build a FED chassis. It's full of useful info. If your interested, send me your e-mail, and I'll send a copy to you after I get it scanned (hopefully I'll get time tomorrow). The same book had an article with the Barris Bros. talking about some kind of "new" PLASTIC body filler.:D
