So after running across this plate on Ebay I immediately knew that it needed to go on my FED trailer...well after some minor tweaking of course. Start: Heat and Tweak: Goobered mtg hole filled in: Rattle can paint: 99 Cent Paint marker: If you're wondering the big black mark was from the heat shrinking - flattening out the old number left quite a pucker and twist in the plate - nothing the blue wrench wouldn't fix. The blue is some aluminum I used to restamp the "9". It's far from perfect, but all in all came out ok I think.
Actually I was hoping to score a plate from the 60's - something that one may have seen towing a 180" digger. But a 57 or 58 plate would be mega cool as well! Let's see I could restamp the "7" into a "5" and it would be easy to make that "0" into a "8"...hmnnnnn.
