Heyy It was a long time ago, NOW I think it was the lens from a 1961-62 88 wagon, they were the same lens, and he frenched them in, And we all liked them.

Just my opinion but I have always thought the stock tail lights great.

I have seen many 51 with caddy tail lights but I believe the car looks best with the stock lights.

May I suggest that you find someone with photoshop. Then you can try many designs without ever lifting a cut off wheel.

 

These? Not sure the dog agrees, but if you could ever find some they might work.

 

I'm sure after all this time you've made a decision but if not my vote would be 57 Vette or 54 Merc like Larry Watson had on the Grapevine.

Had a friend in high school that used 48 Chevy taillights in his 51 Chevy custom. He mounted them something like this. Always liked the way it looked..

Consider 49/50 Fords with the windsplits, very kool. Friend of mine is currently using 49/50 "almost" vertical with a slight cant inward at the bottom.

 

I liked them so much that I had to find a set for my car!

I just picked up a decent set of 51 kaisers.
I pulled this pic off the web. I liked how they looked on the Bass fleet line.

Dang it haha just when I thought I has my mind. Set , yes they looked great on bass's car ... I doubt I'd find another set easily

I've been thinking of the 57 Vette for my 50 Chevy for a while...any pics out there? Been trying to find some...

 

I got an idea the other day to put 49-52 sedan delivery tail lights on my Fleetline. Not sure how it would look or if the parts are easy to find but, it's an idea.... Hell, it may have been already mentioned in this thread.

I always thought the 58-60 vette tails would look good on a 49-52 chevy, but like all things corvette, it would be hard to come by an affordable set

 

I've been playing with the 57 vette thought for my 50 as well. Im just still looking for a set I can afford.
