Looking for some pics of tudor or fordor sedans shortened (front to back) and chopped. Sort of like an extended cab truck body. Anyone have anything they can post?

    Thanks!

Can someone tell me if this started out as a tudor or fordor? Any history or more pics on this one?

Hopefully it's more clear now. :D

i do believe that that one started out as a coupe. do a search for "Purple People Eater" or "PPE" and your likely to find lots of info on that car. it belongs to Marky from the Shifters car club.

My 34 had an extended cab. Used doors to extend the cab and it gave it lots of room.

I was kind of thinking something like this, but made from a shortened sedan body w/ the roof still on. So pretty much like the PPE (even though it's made from a coupe), but with the rear axle and gas tank outside the body like this one...

I like that! Lookin' good man! Do you have an interior post that looks to the rear that shows your axle, drive shaft, tank, z-d rear, etc.?

The pair that was used was all rusted out. Just barely salvaged the pieces needed......they were found on the side of a barn.

    I'll let you know if I find a set.....lol

I have pictures of my intire build so far.

    Here is another angle.

Email me so for more pictures, as I don't want to burn up Ryan's expensive web-space.

Just giving you a hard time, BUT I like your pickemup a lot.
Was it worth using the doors?
I'd think it would be easier to just make the pieces needed and forget
and using the doors for pieces.
Have any pics of the inside to show how much more you have?

    thanks,
    DJ

Heres an early one....( 60's build)
Started with a 4 door and cut the front doors out and the floor area,Shortened the frame and made "pie" cuts in the top to mate the rear part of the body to mate up with the cowl section.

This one was at The Hunnert Car Pileup. I'm guessing it used to be a sedan.

I just love the "A" that Marky of the Shifter's cc. put together. If I remember right it was a coupe with the trunk cut off.

I love that truck. Every pic I see of it is awesome.
As always the PPE is killer too.

Back in the early seventies, I took 24" out of the quarter windows on a 30 tudor. I had to cut and reskin the doors. 92" wheelbase! I like Ahotrods version, his is a little roomier, more wheelbase. I will try to find some pics of it and post here.

YUP!! Like that! Very cool! Who's is that? I was even thinking that it might look cool without the bed too like this one:

The bed looks pretty cool on there also though.

Can someone photo chop the black one? Chop the bed out and move the rear axle and wheels forward about 4-inches?

Well I'm a horrible photochopper, but maybe this will give you the idea though:

Here's my VERY crude chop job using MS Paint (I don't have photoshop at work):

That grey looking thing behind the body is supposed to be a fuel tank. Suspension under that. Part of the z-d frame section would be inside and part outside. Just thoughts. Anyone seen anything like this?

OR... let's take it a step further and put the front axle in front of the grill...

The second one looks better, I think. There used to be one around here, shortened and chopped, but not channelled. Looked very hot, and the rearend was tucked under. Bright orange wiht a 350/350 combo. Only wish I knew where it was now, I almost had it bought way back when (5 years ago).
