I am kinda bias because my friend and his dad own the company but I have not heard any negative stuff about them. They look very nice and yes cheaper then the originals....Danny

    They ****, I hate them.
Honestly there's no worse bumper as far as I'm concerned. No offense to Brizio at all.
Lookit they're based on Desoto bumpers, those Desoto bumpers were used on streamlined Kustoms from the 40s. On 50s cars they look horrible.

  5. What, these super cool and well made ones? Note the 49chevy licence plate frame they also make to fit there bumpers.
The front is shown in another post too.

I like them alot but my car has lots of subtle custom touches. They may seem out of place on a car with billet wheels and modern theame.

IMHO BAD VERY VERY BAD. Certain mid to late 30's cars can get away with them but otherwise they ****. I'd rather see you run painted or no bumpers before them.

  11. Damn that's a good looking car Rudy!!! And for the record, not made by Brizio.

  12. Kinda-weird lookin ,when new and worse when they dull--Maybe it'd be better if they were chromed. You also have to baby them as the are aluuuuumeeeeum -not for the wifes car![IMG]

  13. Nice bumpers. Only problem I have seen with them is they are a little soft, seeing as they are made of aluminum. The front one tends to get pock marked from rocks if you drive your car a lot. I also run quartz halogen headlites and can't keep them in very long either because of rocks taking them out. Same with my windshields. Just the hazards of drivin em on the hiway and rackin up miles.

I bought a rechromed set for a 40 Ford off Ebay (actual Ebay photo above) for under $275. Advance Plating wanted $450 each.

I like the Briz's on Roadstar's 40 DeLuxe but his 40 has a lot of custom touches.

Love the 40! great job Roadstar... [IMG] [IMG]

You really want to take a look at a set before you buy them. They are extruded aluminum (solid backed) not forged, stamped or cast. In my opinion they are cheezy looking up close. They also wany big bucks for chrome brackets for these guys.

  17. I'm pretty versital about the choice. Last year I had a pair of stock 36 bumpers re-chromed from Bumper Boyz for $230.oo for the pair. I just got a pair of stock bumpers re-chromed for my 57 Ford last month by Bumper Boyz and combined with repairs under $500.oo. That's not bad. Over all I've been involved with 7 pairs from them and very happy with cost and quality.

roadstar, they look great on your Ford, but when you slop on 'em on 50's cars they look bad.

I think they look good on anything that is from the
    "Art Deco" era.....
Here is a shot of an Airflow that enjenjo built. About as Art Deco as you can get. I think they look great.

Like any other part, they have to "fit" the look you are after. On Rudy's 40 they look killer but even other 40s may may not have the look with them on.

Thanks Nads. And I fully agree they look way wrong on 50's cars. They need the Real De Soto Bumpers that are more C shaped and actually bigger to fit the bigger car.

And the comments that were made about the finish being not up the look of chrome is very true. They don't have the luster they should and are hard to keep up the polish they do have. I have seen some chromed and they look 10 times better.

i think they are a decent looking bumper, i do agree that they are for '40's cars, they are soft, & lack the shine, & they could be better if chromed, but all in all, they are nice, .that said, i am friends with the originators, (mark brizlawn & gary baker sr.), & the current owners, (gary baker jr. & sr.) & i am running '37 desoto bumpers on my '36 ford. i found them at the swap meet in portland for $10.00 each, they need work, but all in all, a good deal, (ps, mad max creations just built a '34 truck for gary baker jr., & it don't have briz bumpers) so i think he knows that they don't look right on everything.....chip

The ones on the 34 Airflow are not chromed, owners choice, he is a patina freak. They would look much better chromed, I was quoted $100 for chroming, for the pair at a local shop. They were polished that nice.

Those bumpers were custom made for that car, I sent patterns, and they matched them. Including shipping, the cost was about $350. So having the bumpers made, and chroming would still be cheaper than rechroming a set of stockers, at least around here.

    Not to SPAM, but...

I have a set of the BRIZ bumpers off of a 40 Ford for sale if anybody wants them.

    Pre-drilled for a 40 Ford, non-plated, in great shape.
