Wow! There are only two things that strike me as odd about this car. The center caps and the 65 GTO scoop. I think the scoop would look better without the split. Just my opinion... the rest of the car is pure porn to me!

The center caps are temporary; the hood scoop is one of my favorite features of the car. Glad you liked the rest!

Love your car, not real fond of the scoop also just because I don't like hood scoops. If I had to have a scoop, I think I would have gone with a '55-'57 T-Bird scoop. Just my opinion, every thing else is perfect...

What engine/ trans are you running?

I looked at the T-Bird scoop, which would have made sense on the car, but the GTO is just better looking.

      It's running a 289, C4 and 8", all from a mid-'60s Mustang.

Yes, it's one sweet Vicky...love that metallic slate! If you visit Rik Hoving's site of custom cars, you'll find this (your) car there. I knew that it looked familiar. I have to compliment your great taste in transportation that you've chosen over the last 55 years.

One of the nicest '56 mild customs I have seen (and probably the ONLY one I've seen since the early '60's w/ Merc. tail-lights. Lincoln hubcaps give it a nice touch of elegance. Simply bitchin.....not to mention the memories (friend of mine in high school had a black '56 w/ white TJ tuck & roll.....)

Updated drive train in fall '10: 351W warmed up with AFR alu heads, Engle/Edelbrock/Holley/MSD, electonic AOD, 3.80 rear end gear. Much stronger than the 289, still long legged for the highway.

This car is amazing, I love the subtle custom touches. I'm considering the Olds bezel conversion for my 55 RanchWagon too, you don't have photos of the process by chance do you? Thanks, Jake
