FrankenStude Too

This is how i took a early(late 20's early 30's Studebaker 5 Window Coupe and brought it back to life.Although its far from done, this is what i have so far. I call it FrankenStude Too because of all

Here is the engine painted up with the ghostly green color. headers are on and the new chrome valve covers that i had purchased almost 15 yrs earlier finally sit where they belong. Because I had problems with the origional C-6 tranny behind the 460, I mounted an old 1968 rebuilt top loader 4 spd. using a 1985 Ford f 350 aluminum bell housing, 390 flywheel and a 78 bronco clutch pack.

A 460 headers kit was order from Speedway for $140, then heavily modified and welded up to fit the coupe. A couple of pcs of 3" S.S. tubing made great lake pipes. Inside the lake pipes i welded in the auger style mufflers from Speedway. The 460 engine,a smooth luxury engine now sounds like a stock big block chevelle out of the 70's...cool!

The body was pulled off by a couple of chainfalls and the under side was undercoated and painted.

For $20 i bought on Ebay a headlight bar. I cut the ends off and bolted them to the frame. The remaining center section was then welded to the ends again. I made some adapters to hold 7" dia, sealed beam headlamps into the 8" Model a headlight buckets.

A fiberglass 1932 Ford radiator shell off of Ebay was temp mounted with the new aluminum radiator. Front bumper was a pc of hvy steel that was chromed i found ant the dump one day. I welded on some brackets and bolted it onto the front frame.
