Burt Munro was as driven an individual as ever lived. His self taught mechanical ability, and single minded focus on making his beloved Scout the fastest in the world is the stuff of legends. It was my great honor to meet him on his first trip to Bonneville in 1962, and watch him come back for the next 8 years in persuit of his passion. He devoted 50 years of his life to his dream. Burt Munro is a hero in my book!
