Not rare at all. Cut and fit Small Block Chevy injection. On my Packard powered Vega I used a Pontiac Hilborn injectior the same way. Any time i can cut up SBC parts to make something good I'm proud to do it.

.Don't let Royce fool you, he also has a Ford Y-Block with a cut up sbc Hilborn set up.
