My humbly proud little Simmons Sea Skiff, the greatest of the Atlantic wooden boats. From Myrtle Grove Sound, NC outside of Wilmington, built by T.N. Simmons, a pattern maker and cabinet maker. The boat is of his own design. Each was custom made, he built about 1400. His slogan was "The Fisherman's Favorite." After 20 years in the business, his son was killed in 1972 in a accident in one of his boats. He closed the shop for 6 months. This boat is believed to be the first to come out of the shop after he reopened. He tried to make a go of it, but shortly afterwards, closed the shop for good and made grandfather clocks the rest of his life.
