tad rough around the edges, but this is a rare car. thought it was well worth saving

ha.. that's the ironic part. I had been searching for a couple of years for one of these. found and bought a sedan out of Maryland. Started restoring it, thinking I'd never find a convertible that I could afford, when this one popped up on evil-bay within an HOUR drive from me. A guy had it sitting in a garage with the intention of restoring it, but unfortunately he passed away unexpectedly. So, his widow and a friend were auctioning off all of the cars that he had. The REALLY interesting thing is that the car might only have 25k miles on it according to odometer. When I got the car, it had Ohio plates on it from 1968 and that was the last time it was registered. Title search shows I am the third owner, with 1st owner owning the car up to 1984. I have a couple of early service records on the car that would support this. Brake pedal and accelerator rubber are not worn like a 125k mile car would have. Floor pans are rock solid, with one small hole in the trunk pan where previous owner had a cardboard box of parts sitting in the trunk that collected moisture and held it there. Quarters are rotted, but this car was in Ohio it's whole life, so even 9 years of salty roads could cause that much rot. Undercarriage is surface/scale rust, but I don't find that too surprising given how long it has sat. I've been collecting parts to restore it, and have pretty much made up my mind that I'm going to resto-rod it somewhat. Might swap the 383 for a 460, put disc brakes on the front, and drop it 2-3". Paint it the original red with black top. Rims of some kind. What do you think?
