This picture is a good example of how the electroluminescent lighting works in Cord gauges. As stated in the previous pictures the gauges are made up of two pieces of glass. The first being just standard curved glass and the second being a thin flat piece that has the numbers and graphics screened on to it. When lit the numerals look as if they hang in mid-air. You can see in one of the gauges the inner piece of glass has been shattered. Once again these were also found in 50's and 60's Semi trucks in large Auburn (3 1/2" & 2 5/8") sizes which begs the question why are they never seen in a hot rod?
