Been "into" cars since my cousin gave me a Hot Rod Magazine in 1959. Put my '34 Panel on the road in 1973 (~340,000 miles ago) and were very active in attending all the available runs in the area in the 70's. At the time there were three types of rodders - non-truckers whom you seldom saw, Sunday truckers who only came to runs on Sunday for the trophy presentations and Truckers who went to run(s) every weekend (and all three days of the, then common, weekend campout runs. So when we painted the truck in '78 and needed something to put on the side "O'Brien Truckers" sounded better than "Hotel Panel". And since that was painted on the side of the truck, it seemed like a natural to use it for the name of our company when we started making parts to sell in 1978. Now 36 years later we've made over 130,000 car club plaques for 3000+ clubs all over the world and thousands of engine accessories and other related parts. Along the way, we've picked up all the original patterns for the club plaques made by Speed Gems (Minn./St. Paul) and Chicago Metal Craft (Port Chicago, Calif.) giving us a collection of ~ 15,000 plaques.
