About
I started out on cars with vw's when i was 14, mainly cos they where cheap, and the old bugs looked like 40's american cars to me. I got into VW's big time, and have had a couple magazine featured in the U.K. Having sold a 66 bug for good money, I decided it was 'now or never' to own my dream car, and via ebay, I purchased a rough but complete 40 Tudor Sedan. I'm still in the parts gathering stage, as it needs alot, but my plans at the moment are a dropped Ibeam front end, Quickchange rear, Halibrands or or staright spoke American 5's, fenderwell headers, louvered hood, and either a 348/409, or a 302 ford, hooked up to a 5 speed manual box.So far I have the front end, so alot more collecting and money to go.
UPDATE:
That ebay 40 was a pile, so i sold it and found one un Blighty that had just been imported,so bought that one. Much nicer car, so I don't have a load of rust to fix. I also have a few more parts, rebuilt 348 wit tri power, V8 halibrand Center, and small window halibrands. The car will be a semi custom to start with none of that stuff on it, just lowered, skirts, whitewalls and caddy caps. Its the quickest and easiest way for me to get it driving, registered etc. I'm hoping to get another 40 chassis, build that up with all the good stuff, and then do a chassis swap on it. Thats the plan, i'll start an album with updates as and when i do them. Warning: my progress is slow!Interact
