I think you miss understood me. You are correct in what you're saying but I was talking about the inside of the spoke casting [ATTACH]
My photo is of a 16 x 8.5 his is a 15 x 6. U.S. Mags was the only 16" in aluminum back then. American only had 16" in magnesium at the time.

They are vintage U.S.Mags from the late 1960's early 70's [ATTACH] Not to be confused with the modern U.S.Mags from the last few years
Its very hard to see because of the shadows but are the back side of the spokes flat in the center like this picture [ATTACH]
