As a kid in the 50's, I well remember my first soapbox derby car my dad purchased from a neighbor down the street. I was only in 2nd grade but have great memories of driving it down the street on Saturdays. It was only natural, as I grew older, being mechanically inclined, a welder/fabricator, that I start building things with wheels. I love the hobby and early history of rodding
