1931 Chevy 5 Window Coupe - Soon to be completely restored as a custom show rod from the early '60's with a new 6-71 supercharger setup from Don Hampton.
Car Club: Lone Wolf at the moment...
I have been into hot rods most of my life - more so after my partnership as Associate Editor and Art Director in an east coast hot rod and customs magazine called "Golden Chariots" from 1987 to its demise in '92. I was completely hooked ever since. I finally bought my first rod in '95 - a complete original steel '31 Chevy 5 window coupe, still on its original chassis, built as a rod in the late '60's. I have driven this coupe for over 60,000 miles as a primered hot rod! I am getting set for my car's complete re-build of an early 60's custom show rod, motivated to get her street ready for my 31st Anniversary this year in 2026! My '31 will be in bare steel at first, featuring a wild custom painted, candy orange Prisma metal-flaked Chrysler 392 HEMI and a 6-71 supercharger setup from Don Hampton (in the near future)! During the 1950’s, Hampton gained recognition as not only a driver, of such vehicles as his; ’29 Roadster, a Ford flathead, a “rear engine” Buick V-8, a Top Fuel 354-cid Chrysler belonging to Chet Herbert as well as Kenny Lindley’s beautiful Miss Fire dragster, which he drove at the ’59 NHRA Nationals in Detroit, but also as a mechanical engineer, manufacturing GMC superchargers, “Hampton Blowers” in 1957 till present day!
