My Grand Father opened a dirt track in Mid-State Ohio back in the 1950's and it served as my first exposure to modified cars of all kinds. Sitting on the back of the watering truck to turn valves and looking at the old race cars was an awesome thing and I was hooked. Though I was detoured for almost 30 years raising a family and engaged in a Naval Career, I've still been able to stay in touch with my passion. I have a '39 Chev Pickup project in the wings and I'm currently amassing the bits and such to build an Underslung Scratch Rod. I came here to learn from those that came before me, because, I've always kn own that new ideas originate in old books. Mre to the point, if you want to know how to build the old, ask the old or, someone that learned from the old. Just make sure that if it is second or third hand info, that it spins on th e same axle as the other stuff you already know. Jazz?Interact
