I've always liked cars from Macthbox and Hot Wheels to the real "growed up" ones I have now.

I wasn't born 'till '59, so most of the members here have cars much older than I am!

My dad liked Buicks, my brothers liked Chevy's and I grew up across the street from the Hart's, the folks who owned the Standard Gas and Service Station at N/E corner of 44th Street and Indian School. (when the Pete's Fish and Chip's was in the same parking lot)

All of them were into drag racing, (my dad, well, not so much but he took us to the races at Beeline whenever my brothers or the nieghbors were racing, which was alot) so I just kind of got the car bug.

I got to ride with my brothers a couple of times on Central Avenue,(some of my best memories) and then cruised Central myself from '75 'till they stopped us in '80 or early '81.

I had a '65 2 Door Ford Fairlane with a 260 V8 and a column shifter converted to a Hurst floor shifter. It even had home made dual exhaust!

    VVVVVRRRROOOM!!! Ha Ha!

I have always been amazed at what a car guy can do with a vision, some raw talent, a few tools, some really good friends, some luck, and a 'fridge full of beer!

I'm pretty sure that always being around cars will ensure I will, forever, continue to be.

I am trying to guide my son into the car thing, so that we have more in common, and he does show many of the signs of a car guy , but teenagers can be fickle, and right now he's a jock.

The best part is he's only 14 and the " I can get my licence to drive soon" thing hasn't registered yet.

I can only hope for the best...... and I just hope he keeps on helping with the latest project. (this '69 truck) He has no clue will soon be his first and his own....

    That's pretty much me......
