    Gold Chainers CC Alberta chapter
Into cars since I could walk, influences include a mechanic Grandpa,my Dad, plastic model kits, and all manner of printed material regarding the automobile. And, a family friend who had (and still does) a bitchin chopped, chanelled full-fendered '36 Chev p/u. I vividly remember seeing it in pieces in his basement, already chopped, a light coat of gray primer disguising the still visible flame job it once wore. A set of red steelies mounting wide white big n littles were along the wall. I'd have been 8 or 9, and that image is seared into my memory. I may have already taken the hook, but it was set from there forward. It was one of the first motorized vehicles I ever drove, at age 13 or so, hunkered down, peering through the chopped windshield. It was in the shakedown process in hindsight, primered, probably running for the 1st time in years. I had no idea how much work, or how rewarding making the monster come to life a hot rod is. I do now, thanks to the involvement of Lee and his hot rod in my life.
