Growing up I was always into taking things apart, and sometimes, making them "better".
My dad always had me right next to him whenever our Chevelle, or his Harley needed work (on anything else for that matter), since someone needed to be the recipient of a continuous string of attempts at electrocution. He referred to these as "compression checks", "fuel inspections", or "spark tests"...
My grandpa had a '55 Nomad, and an old DeSoto ('48 or '49) and that got me liking "old cars". Later on, through a friend who's dad had a number of model T, and an A, I learned what "old cars" really were. I learned how to paint on one of those Ts, and it wound up OK. Same friend and I spend a lot of time learning machining from his dad (worked at Boeing as a machinist) and honing our welding and fab skills on various heaps that we managed to find in the fields near home.
My HAMB friendly personal projects (of various fates) over the years have been:
(unknown year) Model T
'48 F3
'55 F100
'65 Barracuda (I know this is barely HAMB friendly, but it's a cool all original 'cuda)
Currently, I'm excited to start on a project that my wife and I bought together to be our project:
1954 Olds 88 Holiday Coupe.Interact
