About
My name is Brian, although most people know me as BJ.
I have always enjoyed tinkering with things. I noticed very early in life that very seldom could I leave something "stock". Whether it was a model car, lawnmower, motorcycle, bicycle,. etc. I really like to see how things work, and those things usually end up taken apart at some point.
I have always had an interest in cars and especially hot rods. My dad was a car guy when he was young, and past that along to me only in a more potent form. I have owned my 1953 F-100 since I was 14 and it is currently my daily driver/project.
I was working for one of the larger "street rod" parts retailers since 2002 as a salesman. The company moved from Washington State to Phoenix and I said goodbye to the rain and transplanted with them to the Valley of the Sun. Which in the months of July and August can also be called Hell! The company I was working for went out of business (earlier this year 2008) after almost 30 years. As of April 2008 I was employed at a well known Street Rod Shop here in phoenix, working in the parts department. The shop burned down in a catastrophic fire on September 3rd 2010. I stayed with them to assist in the cleanup efforts, as well as take inventory of burned items for insurance purposes, until late November 2010. I then went on to persue a new career as a custom hot rod upholsterer. As of mid January 2011 I have been working with Glenn Kramer "Stitchn" as a helper/apprentice. So far it is going very well for us and I am learning a lot.
Now it's 2021 and I'm still doing custom hot rod interiors.Interact
