When I was 4 my mom would buy me matchbox cars and as soon as I got home I would get a butter knife and take them apart to change the wheels. Graduated to model cars a year later. I would build them then take them apart to customize. Never had a male role model and was never around cars. Raised by my mom and aunt who never had a car made me obsessed with having one. We took the bus everywhere until I got my license at 17. For that birthday my mom bought me a 69 Chevelle off of a neighbor for $150, it needed a motor and some body work. We lived in an apartment and the landlord wouldn't let me work on it there so I sold it to my best friend for a profit, (still kills me to this day I got rid of it). 20 years later my mom and I bought our first home together. One major set back is the garage is only big enough for my chopper (bare bones hardtail Shovelhead I built from ground up) and my tools. Our house is in desperate need of repairs wich I am doing all myself. Just like my taste in cars and bikes my house has to be period correct with all 1940's fixtures, tiles, windows, flooring, appliances ect. It cracks me up how the simpler things are the longer and harder it is to do. That's what it is all about to me, always was and always will be. Nothing is ever easy for me, I refuse to drive a modern car or get things for my house from IKEA. I don't have a computer only a smart phone and that is because I need it for my job so please bare with me on uploaded pics and searching things. I ask a lot of questions and do a lot of searches, I've hit my head pretty bad over the years and wrecked my bike a couple times so bare with me if I don't understand some things at first. Every search I do through Google always brings me here. I hate social networking sites and don't have the time to spend on forums so I never registered before. I'm about to build or sell the coolest car I have ever owned right now (1955 Chevy 2 dr post gasser) so I could really use the help, knowledge, and experience of you guys on the H.A.M.B!
