I’m a preacher with a passion for old cars. I pastor Church B53 (Believers United In Christ’s Kingdom) and my favorite tools are the Bible, torch, grinder, hammer and welder. I like everything from junk to drivers so for the last 25 years I've gone through a lot of metal. I put over 30k miles in two years on my last home built street rod and then went to a new GMC 4x4 in 2010. The new ride was nice but I missed the old metal thumper so when the opportunity came up I waved by to the GMC and started my next ride. In a community where most pastors are driving quite little papaw cars this papaw is known for driving old school tire smoking sleds and hanging out with motor heads. I’ve also gotten in to helping the younger generation dice up their rides and by doing so I find we have a lot in common. God has given me a passion for people and a passion for cars and the two seem to work really well together as I live life not according to popular opinion but according to personal conviction and preference. My youth group just can’t wait to cruise in the new 53 and the church is excited about our first Cruize In where we will be taking sledge hammers to a Mercedes Diesel we purchased for $200.00. The name of our event is Hammerfest 2011.
