Joined Road Knights jr. year in HS, Kansas City. Ran Plymouth in '56 Nationals held in Kansas City, customized it at Kansas Kustoms, Wichita in 1958. Bought '57 Chevy 1959, engine mods, minor customized. Then bought '60 Pontiac Catalina convertible in 1962; a '64 Pontiac GTO in 1964, a '66 Olds 442 in 1967. All these cars were bought used except for the GTO.
The Road Knights along with other clubs in KC area helped build and run the drag strip where the Nationals were held in 1956. Did a lot of street racing and night drags at the time. Lots of great memories! They were the best of times!
Am now 72, still like cars and have bought and sold 35 to present time, almost all used. Still have hot rod buddies; we lived through the golden age of hotrodding!Interact
